Cristiano Ronaldo news: Portuguese denies FIFA Ballon D'or rumors regarding his absence

Real Madrid star and Portuguese international Cristiano Ronaldo has recently denied the rumors about his absence at FIFA Ballon D'or 2014 gala this month.

"It is a closed topic and I do not want to talk any more about this. I can only say that I will go to the gala. I have always gone to the gala. I do not see why you do not have to go. It's normal to be present. I'll see what happens. I do not know if it's fair or not to win it. I'm trying to do my job as always", he told.

"I will help Real Madrid with goals and good displays. If I win, great, and if not, then life goes on and I'll stay the same", added 28 year old.

Ronaldo has been nominated and is one of top three contenders for most prestigious award in worldwide soccer along with Franck Ribery and Lionel Messi.

Cristiano Ronaldo talks on Ballon D'or absence

Cristiano Ronaldo told media while inauguration of his own museum that he is not 'obsessed' with winning Ballon d'Or in 2014 and rumors about his absence at FIFA's all events.

"The Ballon d'Or is a trophy but I'm not obsessed with it. Let's see what happens. We have left space for more trophies. Here is the evidence of what I have won, no one will take it away from here and these were things I wanted to share with my fans, show them what I have already achieved." said Real Madrid star.

"There are still several days left for that, We are discussing this issue with the club and then we'll see what happens." added Ronaldo when asked about his presence/absence at this year's FIFA Ballon D'or gala on 13th next month.

The Portuguese star has been nominated in top three contenders for this year's FIFA player of the year award along with Frank Ribery and Lionel Messi.

FIFA President Blatter pays tribute to ' The Man of Peace'

FIFA president Sepp Blatter has described Mandela as "a man of the people" and told FIFA.com that World Cup in South Africa truly was 'a dream come true' for the great man.
Nelson Mandela, Nobel prize winner and the 'Man of peace' passed away on Friday morning 
aged 95 due to a recurring lung infection.
