Michael Carrick and Sir Alex Praise Wayne Rooney

Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson and England midfielder Michael Carrick(Manchester United) have praised Wayne Rooney yesterday for his match winning performance against Bayer Leverkusen on 17th september.

Michael Carrick was delighted to see the striker scoring second individual goal which was his 200th goal for Manchester United on Tuesday night.He told Manutd.com " It was probably Wayne's best performance that I've seen for a while.It's great to have him in that form - he can be untouchable when he's like that."

While Sir Alex praised him, saying "Wayne’s performance was fantastic, I was pleased to see that." 
71-year-old, currently Director of the club also told the club’s in-house TV station " He’s got his energy back – the determination, his purpose to attack players, was all very encouraging to me. Being a director, I’m delighted to see that. He’s back to what we always remember him as.We will have a fantastic chance because in Van Persie and Rooney, you have forwards who can win you games."

The goals against Leverkusen brought Rooney’s tally at the club to 200 in 406 appearances, putting him fourth on United’s all-time leading scorers’ list behind Bobby Charlton (249), Denis Law (237) and Jack Rowley (211).
